We normally require that students complete the GRE Verbal, analytic and quantitative sections for consideration to receive financial aid in our graduate program. Completion of the GRE is not required for admission to the BEE/MSEE program. However, because students must complete the GRE to be considered for certain fellowships, we recommend that the GRE be taken during the senior year. Application DeadlinesAll applications must be submitted by the end of the Fall semester of the student’s junior year for admission the following spring semester. Admission letters will be sent out in late February of the spring semester of the junior year and students will officially start their MS program in the fall semester while completing their senior year. Tuition will be charged at the Graduate School rate in the student’s fourth (first year graduate) and fifth (second year graduate) years. AdvisingStudents enrolled in this program are encouraged to select an advisor before the first semester of enrollment. That is, while they are completing their junior year of the undergraduate program. This faculty advisor will ensure that the student meets all requirements for both the BEE and MSEE degree. The advisor will work with the student on the thesis for a Plan A or the paper for a Plan C masters degree track. Financial SupportThe tuition for graduate classes is higher than undergraduate and therefore we anticipate providing financial support similar to what is provided to our graduate students presently. Support will be in the form of departmental or external fellowships, teaching assistantships (TA’s) and research assistantships (RA’s). Additional support may be in the form of corporate funding in cases where the student is working on a project sponsored by a company. If no support in the form of a fellowship, or TA or RA, the department will seek monies so that the difference in tuition between undergraduate and graduate tuition is available to the student. |
